Missouri McCarthy HITT, JV has begun construction of the National Geospatial Agency headquarters in St. Louis. The project is also known as the Next NGA West (or N2W). It is being built on a 97-acre site at the intersection of North Jefferson and Cass Aves. in the St. Louis Place neighborhood of north St. Louis and will replace the current NGA facility located south of downtown. It is a design-build joint venture that includes McCarthy Building Cos, HITT Contracting, Inc., Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp., Gensler and Akima, LLC. The project entails building a 700,000-sq-ft main operations building, a 40,000-sq-ft central utilities plant, two parking garages totaling 992,000 sq ft and a 7,300-sq-ft visitors center. Construction is expected to be completed by April 2023. McCarthy HITT, JV was awarded a $711.7 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
