The mission has a budget of 197 billion rupees (approximately $2.2 billion). However, progress is slow with 94% of planned capacity still at the announcement stage, and only 2.8% operational as of August 2025. Challenges include inadequate infrastructure, unclear demand signals, higher costs, and lack of storage and transport facilities. The target production is now likely to be achieved by 2032 instead of 2030. |
