Description | In January 1997, Road King Infrastructure signed two 23-year joint venture contracts for the upgrading and operation of National Highway 311 and Provincial Highway 01 (Xuchang-Nanyang Highway) in Henan Province. The roads are class I highways serving as the main transportation route to the Pingdingshan coal mine. The first contract includes all of Highway 311 and the Xiangcheng Section of Highway 01. The second covers the Yexian section of the Provincial Highway. Road King has a 50% equity stake in the joint ventures and invested HK$194 million (US$ 24.8 million) in the projects. Road King funds its projects from internally generated funds and long term debt. This includes a US$ 138 million syndicated loan and US$ 140 million 10-year fixed rate notes arranged in 1997.
