National Identity through Culture Exchange

Contacts between Pure (LV) and Babtai (LT) have been developed for a long time in the area of horticultural science. Both places are located in the countryside and have rich culture traditions, but the opportunities of local inhabitants to take part in culture events are limited. The project promotes culture development in the countryside through cross-border culture exchange and promotes involvement of the countryside inhabitants in the active crossborder communication, activates social life, improves knowledge about traditions and culture heritage of neighbouring country and strengthens the self-assurance of the countryside amateur artists. The main activities of NICE project are two Amateur Artist Festivals in Pure and in Babtai to present national identity through culture exchange. In these festivals amateur artists from both municipalities will take active part in different fellowship concerts, workshops, street performances and concerts.
