Description | On 5 May 1997, New World Infrastructure signed a 25-year cooperative joint venture agreement for the development and operation of the Lainping County section of National Roadway No.105. An old roadway exists, but the JV company will construct a new road due to open at the end of 1998. The new roadway is a 33km dual 2-lane class-1 highway. NWI has a 51% stake in the project company, Heyuan Xinlian Highway Co. Ltd. NWI invested US$ 3.82 million in equity and US$ 11.47 as a shareholders loan. Total project costs are US$29.98 million. New World disposed of its stakes in project in November 2000. |
