Description | Information Department of Sports has come up with National Sports University [NSU], Imphal [Manipur] with a ticket size of 643.34 INR Crores. This project in Education Infrastructure sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The proposal for setting up of National Sports University [NSU] in Manipur was formally announced by the Hon?ble Finance Minister in his Budget Speech [2014-15] on 10 July 2014. The Government of Manipur provided 325.90 acres of land in West Imphal District of Manipur for setting up of the NSU on 29.12.2016. Hon'ble Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the NSU in Imphal on 16.3.2018. The NSU Act, 2018 [No.25 of 2018] notified and published in the official Gazette of India dated 17thAugust, 2018. NBCC [India] Ltd. has been engaged as the Project Management Consultant [PMC] for setting up the National Sports University vide MoU dated 25th Sept. 2019 between Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and NBCC. |
