The operation will finance actions oriented to consolidate the vision of the sector as a leader in the strategy of the country development. The investment will be organized in three components: (i) Support to the National Sustainable Tourism Strategy; (ii) the Tela Bay project; and (iii) The Mundo Maya Sustainable Tourism Project. The first component will finance actions identified as priority in sphere of action of the public sector to support the development of the sector in the whole country, grouped by: (i) specific investment in basic sanitation, management/conservation of natural areas, urban improvements; (ii) a quality management system, including environmental management required to support the sector; (iii) training and institutional strengthening; (iv) support for small entrepreneurs. The second component will include resources to cofinance with other financial agents the basic infrastructure for the internal public services of the Tela Bay project, and investments in the area of influence to guarantee the environmental and social sustainability of this project. The third component will finance five subcomponents: (access infrastructure ¿airport and roads¿basic services, archeological restoration, rehabilitation of the Omoa Fortress and facilitation of migration), identified and designed in the framework of the Regional Mundo Maya Program.
