National System Control Centre (NSCC) for Kenya's National Grid

The project involves constructing a National System Control Centre (NSCC) for the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO). The NSCC will serve as the central brain for Kenya's national electricity grid, enabling advanced monitoring and control of power flow across the country. The consortium of GE Vernova and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) will build a main control centre in Embakasi and an emergency control centre in Suswa. GE Vernova will lead technology implementation, providing software, substation automation, and telecommunications systems, while L&T will oversee civil construction, equipment installation, and testing. The project is fully financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), the French Treasury, and the European Union.
