Natrium Kemmerer Unit 1 Advanced Nuclear Reactor

under construction

Construction has officially begun on the Natrium Kemmerer Unit 1 (KU1) site in Wyoming, a next-generation advanced nuclear energy project. Bechtel is serving as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner. The project is the first utility-scale advanced reactor in the U.S. to receive a construction permit from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, marking a key regulatory milestone. The project aims to meet rising U.S. electricity demand with scalable nuclear solutions, leveraging standardized construction methods and digital execution tools.
