Natrium Nuclear Reactor Site Search in Utah

planned

The state of Utah, in collaboration with TerraPower and Flagship Companies, has initiated a search for a potential site to build a Natrium advanced nuclear reactor and energy storage system. This effort supports Utah's Operation Gigawatt, aiming to double the state's energy production over the next decade. The site selection will consider community support, physical site characteristics, licensing ability from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and access to existing infrastructure. Preliminary site recommendations are expected by the end of 2025.
