Description | Henderson Municipal Gas is expanding a new pipeline to bring natural gas service for the first time to the western Henderson County communities of Geneva and Smith Mills. Phase 1 involves installing 3.1 miles of 4-inch polyethylene gas main along Ky. 136 West, with construction starting in early May 2026 and expected to complete by the end of summer 2026. A second phase to extend the line another two miles into Smith Mills is planned pending additional funding. Homes and businesses within 300 feet of the new main line will receive free hookups, providing a more efficient and affordable energy option compared to propane. |
