Description | Türkiye will begin providing natural gas to Syria via a pipeline through the southern Kilis province. The project involves partnerships with Azerbaijan and Qatar, aiming to support electricity production in Syria and stabilize the country's energy infrastructure. The pipeline from Kilis to Aleppo was completed in May 2025, with Qatar providing financing support. Türkiye plans to send 6 million cubic meters of gas to Syria to fuel existing power plants, increasing daily electricity access from 3-4 hours to around 10 hours. Additionally, Türkiye will contribute 500 megawatts of electricity from its own supply and efforts are underway to reactivate a damaged transmission line to deliver nearly 900 megawatts of electricity to Syria. |
