Description | The Republic of Nauru has signed a memorandum of understanding with Australian renewables company Smart Commercial Energy to explore a major solar and battery project. The project proposes an 18MW solar and 40MWh battery storage solution aimed at bringing the country close to 100% renewable energy, reducing dependency on diesel, and cutting electricity costs. The project will be delivered through a Power Purchase Agreement with a pathway for Nauru to eventually own and operate the system. |
