Description
Description | This project is intended to result in construction of new flood mitigation and protection measures around the Nazko First Nation (NFN)-owned Three Nations Store and Lodge, located immediately south of the Nazko IR #20. Proposed works will involve construction of a flood mitigation berm approximately 167 m long and raising the grade of Harris Road over approximately 100 m to provide flood protection. The constructed berm/raised roadway are intended to keep flood flows away from the Store, therefore keeping the hazard of flood waters and flooding of the Store at a safe distance away. The key activities/steps involved include completion of environmental and MOTI permitting and approval tasks, gravel source pit testing, granular borrow pit development, survey layout, installation of erosion and sediment control materials, mobilization of equipment to site, site preparation, organic stripping, placement of select granular fill, installation of lock blocks and geogrid in select locations along berm, seeding and planting of willow cuttings. |
