Description
Description | The NBA is planning to launch a 16-team European basketball league called NBA Europe in October 2027. The league aims to include 12 licensed clubs and 4 teams earning their way into the competition, with potential growth to 18 and then 24 teams by Year 7. The NBA is negotiating partnerships with EuroLeague and European soccer clubs to leverage fan bases, infrastructure, and financial resources. License fees and revenue splits are key negotiation points, with the NBA proposing a sliding scale license fee and a revenue split with NBA Europe teams. The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund is a likely owner of one of the licensed teams, possibly a new London team. |
