Nebius AI Data Center Campus in Independence

planned

Nebius, an Amsterdam-based artificial intelligence cloud infrastructure provider, is exploring building an AI data center campus on 398 acres in Independence, Missouri. The campus could grow to eight to ten buildings, totaling billions of dollars and approximately 800 megawatts of capacity. The project is in early design stages and feasibility is being determined with the city. The data center would use a closed loop cooling design to save water and could create over 100 operational jobs and hundreds of construction jobs. The project is linked to a $2 billion power generation plan approved by the city to support such developments.
