Description

Description

"This project involves the rehabilitation, improvement, and construction of the Santana – Mocoa – Neiva highway, which connects the departments of Huila, Cauca, and Putumayo in southwestern Colombia. The highway spans a total length of 456 km. The concessionaire for this project is Concesionaria Ruta al Sur, owned by Patria Investment and Grupo Colpatria. The project is anticipated to significantly enhance connectivity for nearly 1 million residents across 16 municipalities in the departments of Huila, Cauca, and Putumayo. Additionally, it will upgrade 456 kilometers of rural, urban, and interurban roads, including the construction of 76 kilometers of new road across seven variants and other improvement sections. This will optimize the connection between the interior of the country and Ecuador via the department of Putumayo, reducing the travel time from Bogotá to Quito by six hours. The construction phase is expected to generate over 4,000 direct jobs. So far, the project has created a total of 2,236 jobs, with 1,285 being local labor directly from the area surrounding the project, and 951 jobs being international labor. The total project cost is $150 million (COP 601,275 million), funded by a loan from IDB Invest. The financial close date is January 25th, 2024." https://www.idbinvest.org/en/news-media/idb-invest-supports-road-infrastructure-colombia-benefiting-nearly-one-million-people
