Description

The project will increase access to community and recreation by upgrading area trails and the bike skills park to include fewer challenging trails and features. With the goal of increased trail network appeal and diversity and to continue to support the local community’s passion for outdoor adventure. The project works will include: - Improvements to the Bike Skills Park including upgrades to the existing facility and an addition of a beginner area and kids pump track; - Complete the Trans Canada Trail network from Morning Mountain to Cottonwood Lake; - Connect trails in the Giveout creek area; - Develop easier options on existing blue and green trails; - Convert Born Again trail on Morning Mountain to an adaptive mountain biking trail (aMTB) for people with mobility challenges; - Buffer south facing trails (primarily North Shore) against damage due to ever increasingly dry summer conditions due to climate change; and, - Related trail works.
