Nepal Commercial Cable Car Projects

approved without proper review, legal action underway to reverse approvals

Six commercial cable car projects in Nepal were granted national priority status by former government leaders, facilitating easier forest clearing and land acquisition in protected areas. These projects, including the Annapurna Sikles Cable Car, were approved without proper community or environmental review, raising concerns about their legality and environmental impact. Legal experts are urging the interim government to reverse these approvals to protect local ecosystems and Indigenous communities.
