The Overall Objective of the Action is to prevent and combat violence against children by developing an holistic intervention model to prevent and respond to Adverse Children Experiences (ACEs). As emerged by the context analysis, ACEs are relevant phenomenon in Sicily. In this context, the ability of in-service practitioners to detect and identify potential victims as well as the capacity to insert them inside a responsive and supportive network is a crucial step to counter violence against children. The project is articulated in four interconnected Work Packages. The 1st WP is directed to develop a shared project management strategy practical for the designing of an holistic intervention model for ACEs. The 2nd WP is directed to establish a network against ACEs, build and experience an Itinerant Training School on ACEs to enhance the capacities of the in-service practitioners and professionals. The 3rd WP establish a supervision unit to consolidate the holistic model, support and monitor its implementation. The 4th WP aims to strengthen the skills and the awareness of children and teachers and disseminate projects results through a European Closing conference on ACEs. As result of the Action, 1 holistic intervention model is designed and implemented, 1 Network against Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is created, 150 medical and social service practitioners, judicial officers, law enforcement agencies, teacher and educators enhance their knowledge on ACEs, identification and reporting procedures, treating 450 victims of ACEs; 175 children increase the knowledge and awareness on the Rights of the Child and produce a child-friendly guide disseminated to 1000 children all over European Union.
