The Ohio Power Siting Board approved a 216-megawatt natural gas power plant to power EdgeConnex data centers in New Albany. This is the second half of an on-site gas power plant project, adding to the first 120-megawatt phase already under construction. Description | The Ohio Power Siting Board approved a 216-megawatt natural gas power plant to power EdgeConnex data centers in New Albany. This is the second half of an on-site gas power plant project, adding to the first 120-megawatt phase already under construction. Both plants will power EdgeConnex data centers within the New Albany International Business Park without connecting to the traditional power grid. The first facility will power a 525,000-square-foot warehouse conversion into a data center expected to come online in early 2027. The newly approved 216-megawatt plant will feed a second, larger 700,000-square-foot data center planned for the same site. PowerConneX, an EdgeConnex affiliate, will own and operate the facilities. |
