New bike lane on existing roadway

Hamilton Road New Bike Lane This project will see the existing gravel shoulders of Hamilton Road paved for use as bike lanes from Craig Street northerly to Route 200 for an approximate length of 2.14 km. The paved shoulders are proposed to be 1.5 m wide and will include all pavement marking and signage upgrades and additions as required by the Province of Ontario (OTM Book 5, 6, 11, and 18). The intent of this project is to improve active transportation modes, specifically cycling, within the Township by connecting two major east-west routes, New York Central Trail and Craig Street. The improved north-south connection of Hamilton Road will allow commuters to navigate around and through the Village of Russell and increase connectivity to surrounding regions, specifically the City of Ottawa via Craig Street.
