New Brunswick Museum - Construction Phase

This project consists of partially rebuilding and expanding the New Brunswick Museum building on Douglas Avenue in Saint John, NB. The existing building is at its end-of-life; it is too small, in a state of disrepair, and a risk to the artifacts. This project will partially rebuild the existing museum, while maintaining the historic façade and expanding the building significantly in order to house the essential public-facing components of the Museum, from exhibitions to research. A prime deliverable of the project will be to ensure the renewed building is more energy efficient. It will be built beyond building codes, with GHG reduction measures, which are expected to result in a 32% reduction on GHG emissions. The project will result in a renewed museum that is more energy efficient and will improve access to, and the quality of, community and cultural infrastructure for the community.
