New Compass Fare Payment System Implementation

TransLink is seeking bids to design, implement, operate, and maintain a brand new automated fare collection system for Metro Vancouver's public transit network. The new system will replace the outdated Compass system with an account-based, closed- and open-loop fare system that is modern, flexible, and built for evolving customer needs and multimodal travel patterns. The upgrade includes new fare gates, bus card readers, and potential features such as digital cards through smartphone wallets, incentives, rewards, ticket bundling, distance-travelled pricing, and integration with BC Transit's Umo system.
