Description | Viva Energy has launched Australia's first renewable hydrogen refuelling station at the site of one of Australia's last remaining oil and gas refineries in Geelong, Victoria. The project includes a 2.5 MW proton exchange membrane electrolyser from Nel Hydrogen, powered by sustainable electricity from the grid and water from Barwon Water to produce hydrogen. The facility aims to support a fleet of hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles in the Geelong region, producing up to 1,000 kg of hydrogen per day and dispensing up to 300 kg in under two hours, designed to refuel at least 10 trucks consecutively. |
