Description

Description

Holding auctions for the purchase of electricity, especially those for new generation projects, is the basis for the expansion of the Brazilian electrical system. With a view to meeting the demands of distribution agents of the National Interconnected System (SIN), on March 6, 2016, the estimated dates for holding auctions for the purchase of energy from new generation projects, or New Energy Auctions (LEN ), including the “A-4” New Energy Auction. The “A-4” Auction allowed the participation of enterprises from hydroelectric, wind, solar photovoltaic and biomass sources. The selection criterion was the lowest price of energy offered (in R$/MW), observing the demand partition strategy between sources defined by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), as well as the relative supply of each source in the auctions. . The negotiated Energy Trading Contracts in a Regulated Environment (CCEARs) have a term of 30 years for hydroelectric source projects and 20 years for other sources, with supply starting on January 1, 2023. The “A-4” New Energy Auction was recommended for qualification in the Investment Partnership Program (PPI) through CPPI Resolution No. 53, of May 8, 2019. The Notice was published on 5/29/2019 and the public session of the Auction took place on 7/28/2019.
