Description
Description | Holding auctions for the purchase of electricity, especially those for new generation projects, are the basis for the expansion of the Brazilian electrical system. In order to meet the demand from distribution agents of the National Interconnected System (SIN), the Electricity Purchase Auctions from New Generation A-5 Projects will be held in 2021. Auction A-5/2021 allowed the participation of projects from hydroelectric sources, national mineral coal, natural gas, wind, solar photovoltaic, biomass and energy recovery from urban solid waste. The selection criterion was based on the lowest price of energy offered (in R$/MWh), observing the demand partition strategy between sources defined by the MME, as well as the relative supply of each source in the auctions. The Auction, held on 0/30/2021, attracted investments of around R$3.067 billion. The resources will enable the construction of 40 plants, totaling 860,796 megawatts (MW) of power and will supply electricity to meet the demand of the distributor market. 1,510 lots were negotiated, totaling 25,145,452.80 MWh, at an average selling price of R$238.37 per MWh, totaling contracts worth R$5.9 billion. The average discount was 17.48%. More information: https://www2.aneel.gov.br/aplicacoes/editais_geracao/documentos_editais.cfm?IdProgramaEdital=199 |
