New Fire Station in Melbourne

planned

The city of Melbourne is reconsidering the construction of a new fire station. The original proposal to build the station in Jimmy Moore Park was rejected last summer due to neighborhood opposition. The city is now also considering an alternative site near the muscle car museum at Sarno and Wickham roads, which has no homes but would require a land purchase costing one million dollars. The park location is cheaper, requires less permitting, and offers the fastest response times. The city council may vote on the matter as soon as next month.
