The Buffalo Bills are building a new $2.1 billion stadium in Orchard Park, New York. The stadium is the largest construction investment in western New York history, with a footprint of about 1.35 million square feet on a 242-acre site. It is an open-air stadium with a canopy covering roughly 60% of seats, designed to protect fans from snow and wind while leaving the playing field exposed. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 62,000 with room to expand for special events, premium seating areas including suites, ledge seats, and multiple clubs, and a natural grass playing surface with a SubAir system and underground heating. The project broke ground on June 5, 2023, and is expected to open in summer 2026. The funding includes $850 million in public money and $690 million from the Bills, partly offset by personal seat licenses.
