Description

Description

The project consists of the development of a new direct current system in VSC (Voltage Source Converter) technology between the Lo Aguirre and Entre Ríos sectioning substations, through the construction of a bipolar type HVDC transmission line with metallic return of one voltage. Furthermore, the initiative considers the construction of the corresponding converter stations at the ends of the new HVDC system along with all the equipment and facilities necessary for its proper functioning, as well as the construction of the corresponding alternating current links between the new converter stations and the Lo Aguirre and Entre Ríos sectioning substations, along with the connection bays at their ends. The project aims to alleviate congestion in the Central-Southern corridor, enable the evacuation of energy primarily from wind farms in the southern zone, increase system security, and improve supply conditions at minimum cost for the northern, central, and southern zones.
