New Jersey 1,100-MW Advanced Nuclear Energy Project

planned

New Jersey has launched a competitive procurement process to secure at least 1,100 megawatts (MW) of next-generation nuclear power through advanced reactor technologies such as small modular reactors. The initiative aims to add reliable baseload power to the electric grid, complementing the state's growing digital infrastructure and data centers. The project includes a financial framework where power companies bear the financial risk during planning and construction, with payments starting only after the plant is operational.
