New Jersey UAP Research Center and Counter-Drone Policy Development

planned

Following the 2024-25 New Jersey drone panic, state leaders backed the funding of a UAP research center to study sightings and methods. The project focuses on governance first, including standardizing incident logging, data custody, and escalation rules, which will open procurement for technology buys such as sensor integration, multi-sensor kits, fusion software, and training. The initiative aims to improve detection, identification, and response capabilities across agencies, with implications for public safety spending and counter-drone policy development in Canada.
