Description | The City of Marion plans to build a new aquatic center to replace the outdated Wildwood Pool. The facility will include a recreation pool, lazy river, water slides, lap pool, dive pool, wave pool, parking, street network, seating and shade, bathrooms and changing space, universal/family restrooms, concession stand, and swimsuit dryer. Additional features planned for a later date include 12 pickleball courts, playground, park pavilion, sports mini-fields, ninja course, and mat racer slide. The preferred location is on land bordering 31st Street, 35th Street, and Munier Road north of Highway 100, with an agreement in place to purchase the land. The city has partnered with an independent research firm to gather public input and is conducting a survey to gauge support for funding. Depending on survey results, a tax referendum vote could occur in November 2025. The city has hired Water's Edge and Miron Construction to refine plans and develop construction documents. |
