The site is being considered as one of four potential locations for a new prison with 1,500 to 1,700 beds. The site is separated from the main prison and is estimated to be suitable for a 300-400 bed facility, which may not fully address overcrowding issues. The project is under study by the Project Prison Reset Task Force with plans being developed by the State Engineer's Office. |
