New Old Trafford Stadium

planned

Manchester United plans to build a new 100,000-capacity stadium at Old Trafford. The project was launched in March 2025 with an estimated cost of £2 billion. The construction is expected to take between four and five years once building work begins, but land acquisition and planning permissions are causing delays. The project involves purchasing land currently occupied by a rail freight terminal, with ongoing negotiations. Financing is expected to involve borrowing, with interest from various investors. The Old Trafford Regeneration Mayoral Development Committee will oversee the wider regeneration and assist in land acquisition and planning.
