The project includes the construction, maintenance and operation of the 20-km inter-urban toll road linking Subang Jaya, the Federal Highway, Jalan Bangsar and the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway (Klang Valley). The contract was first awarded in 1997 to Maxtro Engineering Sdn (owned by Tadmansori Holdings, Bakti dinamis, Zeltron Engineering and Bridgecon Holdings). The initial construction works started in mid-1997 by Maxtro, but they were interrupted by the Asian financial crisis. In mid-1998, Berjaya Land acquired Maxtro Engineering for US$ 14.1 million (M$ 53.65 million) and created the company New Pantai Highway Bhd. to undertake the project. Works on the project resumed in mid-1999, and were expected to be concluded in 2000. The dual three-lane expressway will cost US$ 184.2 million (M$ 700 million). The traffic flow is estimated to be around 120,000 to 160,000 vehicles daily. None None
