New project on Establishment of a Biscuit Factory

The project owner is a well-known businessman in the SNNPR region of Ethiopia, and since 2011, runs a wheat flour factory. In 2021, sensing the high demand for biscuits, the promoter proposed to establish a biscuit factory. The envisaged project is to be set-up in the SNNPR region in Butajira town, and it is designed to produce 25,000 tons of biscuits per annum. The project is established with the objective of producing high-quality both hard and soft biscuits of different sizes and flavors which satisfies customers’ needs including international agencies working inside the country like WFP, and UN. The estimated total investment cost of the project is USD 3.43 million and it is expected to create job opportunities for 136 temporary workers. Currently, the physical construction of the factory is fully completed by the owner’s equity and only machine purchasing and installation are remaining to start production. The promoter is looking for a foreign partner who can contribute as an equity to complete the project.
