Description | The new rail bridge built alongside Delhi's historic Loha Pul is ready for train operations after a decade-long delay. The 865-metre-long bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 227 crore, features a double rail line with modern steel girders and bolted connections, built to a 25-tonne loading standard. It has been designed to allow uninterrupted train operations even during high floods and imposes no speed restrictions on EMU trains. The bridge has undergone static load testing and is expected to ease rail traffic significantly. Train operations have started in one direction, with full operations expected soon after final technical formalities and non-interlocking work are completed. |
