The City of Huntsville has approved an agreement to fund a new 42-unit affordable housing community called New Stone Commons, located on 3450 Venona Avenue NW. The project is funded through the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program – American Rescue Plan, with $2.3 million in grant funding committed by the city to expand affordable housing options for qualifying populations and households. The city’s Community Development Department will work with the developer to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements. Once completed, New Stone Commons will provide long-term income-restricted rental units and support the city's efforts to increase accessible quality housing in northwest Huntsville.
