New Transfer Terminal and Bus Acquisition Project

The project consists of the purchase and construction of public transit infrastructure assets that will improve transit and pedestrian safety, ease overcrowding during peak periods, and improve overall operations and access to public transit in Orangeville, Ontario. The project scope includes the: - Purchase of 1 new, low floor, conventional, diesel bus (9m) and the purchase of 1 additional 9 meter low floor, fully accessible, diesel bus; - Construction of 1 new transfer terminal with layby bus lanes and new shelters; and - Route expansion, including construction of new concrete pad bus stops equipped with signage and benches, which will link to Metrolinx transit routes running within municipal boundaries, thereby increasing the proportion of individuals living within the transit service area by at least 30%. The project will result in improved capacity, quality, safety of and access to the public transit system in Orangeville, Ontario.
