Description | Georgia Power is constructing new natural gas generation units at Plant Yates in Coweta County, Georgia. The project includes three new combustion turbines (Units 8, 9, and 10) featuring Mitsubishi Power M501JAC simple-cycle gas turbines and Mitsubishi Electric Power VP-X Series turbine generators. Unit 9 recently received its turbine and generator components. The units are expected to be operational by the end of 2027, providing 1,300 MW of generation capacity to meet Georgia's growing energy demand. |
