Description | Georgia Power is constructing new natural gas generation units at Plant Yates in Coweta County, Georgia. The project includes three new combustion turbines (Units 8, 9, and 10) featuring state-of-the-art Mitsubishi Power M501JAC simple-cycle gas turbines and Mitsubishi Electric Power VP-X Series turbine generators. Unit 9 recently received its turbine and generator components. The three units will provide 1,300 MW of generation capacity and are expected to be online by the end of 2027 to meet Georgia's growing energy demand. |
