Description

Description

Project consists of replacing approximately 1,000 m of existing ductile iron water lines on West Link Road with new PVC waterlines, approximately 200 m of 300 mm waterlines, replacement of valves, curb stops and other associated work. This project aims to provide a more dependable water transmission to the residents. Over the past several years, the town has had numerous waterline breaks and this has left the town in a very vulnerable position where there has been no water available and/or little to no water pressure. There was a water treatment study carried out in 2017 which recommended that a leak detection program be carried out, this program was undertaken and numerous leaks were identified and repaired, however continuous leaks are still occurring due to the deteriorated condition of the transmission main. The only option at this point is replacement of the existing lines to avoid further breaks and repairs and to ensure a healthy supply of water to residents.
