The initiative includes hiring 30 full-time staff across four teams with a baseline funding of $5.24 million in the mayor's fiscal budget. The first team will work with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to build an online portal for filing complaints against companies with hard-to-cancel subscriptions. Additional teams will focus on affordability projects, with one funded in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. |
