Description | Mazama Energy has developed the world's hottest Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) at its pilot site in Newberry, Oregon, achieving a bottomhole temperature of 629 °F (331 °C). The project demonstrates advanced geothermal technology with directional drilling, high-temperature well construction, and proprietary stimulation techniques. The pilot includes a legacy water injector well and a newly drilled 10,200-foot deviated producer well, confirming connectivity and successful creation of the EGS. The project aims to provide low-cost, carbon-free baseload power for data centers and industrial electrification. |
