The project involves injecting water at high pressure into rocks at temperatures of 300 to 400 degrees Celsius to produce supercritical water for energy generation. The method yields 5 to 10 times more energy than conventional geothermal plants, using less water and fewer wells. The pilot site reached 331 degrees Celsius in a geothermal well, the world's hottest. By 2029, the project aims to have 18 to 24 wells with a total 200 MW output and a potential of 5 GW. |
