Description

Description

The Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) is a non-governmental non-profit organisation. FYEG brings together 36 Member Organisations (MOs) across Europe and represents around 55,000 young people across Europe. Every year FYEG’s MOs send delegates to the General Assembly (GA), which is the highest decision-making body. The GA elects the Executive Committee (EC), that governs the federation. The EC is supported through the Office, based in Brussels. In all elected bodies there must be a minimum of 50% of people that identify as woman* and they should be younger than 35 years old. FYEG is a youth led and youth run organisation by definition and execution. FYEG bases all its activities on high standards of youth participation and non-formal education methods. FYEG’s political priorities are: Democracy and Inclusion Climate Justice Feminist and Intersectional Europe FYEG’s aims are to: (1) empower and build the capacities of our member organisations and other young people to meaningfully participate in European politics and take part in decision making. (2) come up with and promote solutions for the issues that our generation and future generations are facing. We do so through statutory and political activities; capacity building and training; communication and outreach. In 2022, we will develop, promote and support actions to engage, connect and empower youth in the spirit of the European Year of Youth. FYEG regularly contributes to policy areas that are important for young people and propose visionary policy proposals. FYEG supports youth movements from all levels, especially gender, sexual and racial minority and justice groups. FYEG has 33 years of organisational history which reflects itself in the professionalism, well-defined structures, creative and innovative approach on capacity building and solid partnerships. To achieve this, FYEG works closely with a network of European institutional and NGO partners.
