"The Creative Industries (CI) are increasingly influenced by digital technology and the NEXTGEM partners recognise the value of close correlation between Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) fields in the education of graduates headed for the CI or for CI facing research. Therefore, NEXTGEM aims to design, format and seek accreditation of an Erasmus Mundus study programme that employs interdisciplinary-, collaborative-, and co-creative education of compatible and complementary target groups from Arts and Science fields. This, to prompt knowledge exchanges across industry sectors and educational domains; render insights useful to research / education / enterprise; and, by that, foster innovation and career opportunities. Thus, strengthening EHEA attractiveness and EU competitiveness. The core Unique Selling Point of NEXTGEM is its innovative study programme concept. A concept that brings together students from Art and Science domains to study both in parallel, in conjunction, and collaborate in interdisciplinary cross-domain teams. Teamwork that lets students co-create innovative products in innovative ways and foster ""student-to-student"" networks across related STEAM fields. By increasing mobility and offering EU/internationally new unique study opportunities for students and graduates, whilst making degrees and credits more comparable and transferable across countries, as well as staying in tune with guidelines for the recognition of foreign qualifications, NEXTGEM is keeping in line with the aims of the Bologna process and acting in accordance with the Lisbon Recognition Convention. Thereby, contributing both innovation and consolidation to the EHEA."
