"The background and rationale of our project is rooted in the need to promote and strengthen democratic participation and civic life of the EU among young people. The project’s main objective is to promote empowerment, participation, active citizenship and social cohesion, with focus on disadvantaged youth, as it places great emphasis on the acquisition of the positive, life affirming values democratic culture encompasses, such as peace, respect for human rights, tolerance, active non-violence, cooperation and social responsibility. Activities: 1. Four ""Next Step to Europe"" Events: a. in Poland about “Democratic Participation” – UN conference “Future of Europe”, workshops about European citizenship, study visit in civic society organisations and local governments, good practice exchange between partners - 110 persons b. in Spain about “Solidarity” - Oxford Debate, workshops about European Values, study visit in civic society organisations and local governments, good practice exchange between partners - 110 persons c. in Italy about ""Climate and environment” - Eco-Festival, workshops about ecology, study visit in civic society organisations and local governments, good practice exchange between partners - 110 persons d. in Greece about “Countering disinformation” - World Café discussions, workshops about fake news, study visit in civic society organisations and local governments, good practice exchange between partners - 110 persons 2. Final conference in Poland “Me, Citizen of Europe” – 70 persons Results: - posters, photos and videos from ""Future of Europe"" contests for young people - 4 local campaigns about EU citizenship, countering disinformation, ecology and EU values - conclusions and recommendation how to protect the EU from disinformation, how to promote EU citizenship, EU Values and democracy and protect environment - boosting active citizenship among youth in small cities"
