Nextchem's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Plant in Indonesia

Nextchem is developing a sustainable aviation fuel plant in Indonesia with a capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year, targeting about 5% of Jakarta's main airport fuel needs. The project focuses on using locally sourced feedstocks such as palm oil mill effluent and certified used cooking oil. It employs proprietary technologies NX PTU™ for pretreatment and NX SAF™ BIO for hydrotreated esters and fatty acids, designed to reduce engineering complexity and execution risks. The project is in the early engineering phase, awaiting final investment decision, funding, and regulatory approvals, with a target operational date of 2029.
